Additional Information The Department of Anthropology is a dynamic teaching, learning, scholarly, and service unit located in the heart of Ball State’s campus. We offer a major and minor in anthropology, as well as a Master’s degree. Our faculty and staff commit to offering students high-impact learning experiences that provide training beyond the classroom, including archaeological field schools, study abroad opportunities, immersive community engagement projects, and internships. Our advanced educational facilities, including the Applied Anthropology Laboratories, allow students, faculty, and staff a site to conduct valuable research to make a difference in today’s world.

Description In the Department of Anthropology at Ball State University this is a tenure track Assistant Professor of Anthropology with specialization in biological anthropology.

Responsibilities include: Teaching introductory courses in biological anthropology, upper- division and graduate courses in primate behavior and ecology, and additional courses within the candidate’s focus area; mentoring graduate students; maintaining an active research agenda that results in peer-reviewed dissemination; and University and professional service.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A biological anthropologist with a focus on primatology. Research specialties should include ecological conservation and environmental studies. Must hold a PhD in anthropology from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: An active research agenda, evidence of scholarly publication and/or presentations, experience teaching anthropology courses, commitment to applied research, and an interest in advancing student-centered field experiences. Will be expected to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with other units of the university.
